Technical SEO for new and custom-built websites

Dardo provides technical SEO for new and custom-built websites: site structure, metadata, redirects, structured data and measurement, planned into the build instead of patched on after launch. It's for teams launching, rebuilding or migrating a site in English, Spanish or both. You get a clear scope and an honest baseline, not ranking promises.

What our technical SEO service includes

SEO is scoped per project, and the proposal names each deliverable, who implements it and how it's accepted. Depending on the site, the scope draws from this list:

  • Search research per language: the queries buyers use, who ranks for them and what those pages answer
  • A page-to-query map, so each important topic has one page and no two pages compete for the same intent
  • URL structure, titles, meta descriptions, headings and internal links written for those queries
  • Crawl and index controls: robots rules, XML sitemap, canonical tags, noindex decisions and correct status codes
  • Structured data that matches the visible content, such as Organization, BreadcrumbList and FAQPage
  • Page speed and Core Web Vitals checks on real templates, including images and fonts
  • Paired URLs and hreflang for sites in more than one language
  • A redirect map, launch checks and Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools setup

SEO built into a new website, not added after launch

Most technical SEO problems are decided during the build: how URLs are formed, whether content is in the HTML search engines read, how templates generate titles, and whether the content model gives every service, product or course its own indexable page. Fixing those after launch means rework; deciding them during design costs very little.

A medio tono, a music school offering classes in Bogotá and online, shows the approach. Dardo's work there included naming, web design, development and SEO. The content model gives programs and teachers stable titles, descriptions, links and language signals, and each teacher profile has its own shareable URL. We checked the live domain, canonical URL, robots file and sitemap on 20 September 2026. No traffic, enrollment or revenue lift has been measured, so it's evidence of the implementation, not of results.

SEO during a site migration

Moving to a new domain, platform or URL structure is where established sites most often lose search traffic, usually because pages vanish without a redirect or everything points to the homepage. We inventory current URLs from a crawl, the sitemap and Search Console, then give each one an outcome: kept, redirected with a 301 to its closest equivalent, merged into a stronger page, or retired with a 410 status when nothing replaces it. Retired articles on our own site return 410, not a blanket redirect.

The redirect map is tested on staging before launch, along with canonicals, hreflang, internal links and structured data, and Search Console is monitored afterwards. Google's site-move guidance says a medium-sized site can take a few weeks or more to be reprocessed, rankings may fluctuate meanwhile, and redirects should generally stay for at least a year. If the migration is part of a full redesign, the website redesign service covers the design side. Moving platforms or domains without a redesign is covered end to end by our website migration service.

Search research and content structure in English and Spanish

We research each language separately rather than translating a keyword list. Spanish-speaking buyers search diseño de páginas web, agencia or cuánto cuesta in ways that don't mirror English, and Colombian, Mexican and Spanish searches differ again. Queries are grouped by the decision behind them: best, top and ranking variants usually share one comparison intent, while cost, process and migration deserve separate pages when they answer different questions.

Each proposed page gets an audience, a primary query, the evidence it needs and a next step; overlapping ideas are merged before publishing. We don't create city pages that only swap a place name, which Google's spam policies treat as doorways. The language architecture itself, with paired URLs and hreflang, belongs to our multilingual websites service.

How we measure SEO without overstating it

We set a baseline before changes ship and compare like-for-like periods, with launches annotated. Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools show queries, pages, countries, impressions, clicks and average position; analytics shows what visitors do; inquiries are recorded separately. A ranking or traffic gain alone doesn't prove revenue, so reports keep those stages apart.

Google's AI Overviews and AI assistants draw on the same crawlable, clearly structured pages. We review them with a dated set of prompts per language, recording whether a page is cited and whether the answer is accurate; that's an observation, not a rank. On our own site we also separate visits referred by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Copilot from search traffic.

Monthly SEO reporting you can act on

An ongoing SEO engagement includes a monthly report built from your own data rather than a generic dashboard. It compares the month with the previous period and the same month last year where data exists, marks releases and outside events, and ends with the three to five changes we recommend next and who owns each one.

Search reporting now has an AI layer. Search Console's Generative AI performance report shows impressions from AI Overviews and AI Mode, and Bing Webmaster Tools' AI Performance report shows how often Copilot and Bing's AI answers cite your pages. Both are new and partial, so the report reads them next to the dated prompt panel described above.

What does technical SEO cost?

Cost follows scope: the number of templates and URLs, the languages, whether we're also designing and building the site, how many URLs a migration must map, how much content needs writing and whether you want monitoring after launch. Ongoing monthly SEO with reporting, AI visibility included, starts at USD 299 a month.

The inquiry form offers budget bands from under USD 5,000 through 5,000–15,000, 15,000–30,000, 30,000–60,000 and above 60,000. Choosing one helps us propose the right depth; it isn't a price list. Every proposal states who implements each change, because an audit nobody applies doesn't move anything.

Who this is for, and when another service fits better

This service fits companies launching a new site, rebuilding on a new platform, changing domain or adding a second language, and teams whose custom-built site depends on code-level SEO decisions. It also fits an existing site held back by crawl, indexing or structure problems. We don't buy links or guarantee rankings. If you mainly need dozens of articles a month, a dedicated content agency will serve you better. Campaign setup or management in Google Ads can be added to the scope if you need it, or we coordinate with whoever runs your ads. If the real problem is that the site doesn't explain your offer, start with web design or a redesign and make SEO part of that project. For a real estate agency with several offices, local search starts with one page per office, which our real estate websites include.

A founder-led SEO team for the US and Latin America

Dardo is a team of three in Bogotá, Colombia, led by founder Nicolás Cerón, working in English and Spanish. Bogotá is on UTC−5 all year, so our day overlaps with US Eastern and Central time. We were founded in 2026, and we'd rather say so plainly: Google suggests asking any SEO provider how long they've been in business and to see previous work. Ours is published with dated checks and stated limits, and the people who scope your project do the work.

Questions before you choose

Can you guarantee a first-page ranking on Google?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Google's own guidance says no one can guarantee a number-one ranking. What we can control is whether your pages are crawlable, indexable, fast, clearly structured and genuinely useful for the queries you care about, and whether you can see what happens next in Search Console. We report observed results against a baseline, including when something hasn't worked yet.

How long does SEO take for a new website?

Expect months, not weeks. Google says some changes show up within hours and others take several months, and a brand-new domain with no history usually takes longer to earn visibility than an established one. Technical foundations such as indexing, sitemaps and titles can be verified soon after launch. Movement on competitive queries is slower, so we set a baseline at launch and compare periods rather than reacting to daily swings.

What is technical SEO, exactly?

Technical SEO is the work that lets search engines find, crawl, render and understand your pages: URL structure, internal links, status codes, redirects, robots rules, sitemaps, canonical tags, structured data, page speed and, for multilingual sites, hreflang. It doesn't replace useful content or a clear offer, but without it good pages can stay invisible or split across duplicates. It's the part of SEO most tied to how a site is built.

Will we lose rankings when we migrate to a new site?

Some fluctuation is normal, and Google says to expect it while it recrawls a moved site. Lasting losses usually come from avoidable mistakes: missing redirects, redirecting everything to the homepage, dropping content that ranked, or changing canonicals and internal links without checking. A URL-by-URL redirect map, a staging review before launch and Search Console monitoring afterwards keep that risk as small as possible.

How much does SEO cost with Dardo?

Ongoing monthly SEO with reporting starts at USD 299 a month; everything else depends on scope, and we quote it after seeing the site. When SEO is part of a new website, it's included in the website project. A standalone audit, migration plan or fix list is priced by templates and URLs, languages, migration size and who implements the changes. The proposal itemizes each deliverable, so you can compare it with other quotes.

Should I hire an SEO freelancer or an agency?

It depends on what has to change. A good freelancer is often the efficient choice for an audit or ongoing content on a site that's already sound. When the problems live in templates, code, content structure and design, you need people who can change those things, not only report them. Dardo is a three-person, founder-led studio that researches, designs, builds and implements, and you talk directly to the people doing the work.

Does SEO still matter with ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews?

Yes. AI answers in Google and many assistants draw on pages that are crawlable, clearly structured and specific enough to quote, which is what SEO work produces. What changes is measurement: there's no universal AI ranking, so we track citations with a dated set of prompts and separate AI-referred visits in analytics. We don't sell guaranteed AI mentions, because no one controls them.
