The short answer

Few providers publish what a website migration costs. The ones that do start at these prices, all read on 15 October 2026:

  • Free to move a WordPress site to a new host on the same platform, at hosts that include migrations in the plan, such as Kinsta.
  • USD 800–2,500 for a small site rebuilt on Webflow or Framer by a freelancer on Contra, in about two weeks, and USD 1,600 for a Webflow-to-Framer move listed on Dribbble.
  • USD 1,500, 3,500 or 5,000 at a studio that prices by size: up to 7 pages, 8 to 20 pages, or more than 20 pages, a large catalog or a second language.
  • USD 7,500 for an agency migration to Webflow that includes 301 redirects and integrations, in four weeks.
  • Free to USD 999 to move a store's products, customers and orders with a migration service. The theme, apps and redirects are separate work.

These are starting prices, not averages. Larger studios set higher minimums: on the first page of each platform's own directory, Webflow Certified Partners listed starting budgets from USD 1,000 to 50,000, and Framer Experts from USD 1,000 to 20,000.

The spread comes from three jobs sold under one name: moving the content, rebuilding the templates on the new platform, and keeping every URL that earns traffic working. A low quote often covers only the first. A move between site builders is mostly a rebuild: Webflow's help center says there is no automated way to convert another platform's site into Webflow, Wix says a Wix site has to run on Wix's servers, and Framer says it doesn't offer HTML export for self-hosting.

One listed partner, StoreFix, prices its store migration from USD 500 and says the cost of moving the data itself is not included. That layering is common: a data tool, a partner's hours and the new theme are three separate lines.

Hourly rates and minimum budgets

  • Upwork median rates: Webflow developers USD 20–45 an hour (Upwork also lists USD 30 for beginners, 59 intermediate and 140 advanced), WordPress developers USD 15–28 and Shopify developers USD 15–29. Upwork says the figures come from historical contracts worldwide.
  • Webflow Certified Partners: the directory's first page showed 10 partners, 9 of them listing platform migrations, with starting budgets from USD 1,000 to 50,000.
  • Framer Experts: of the 50 experts on the directory's first page, 15 start from USD 1,000, 20 from 5,000, 9 from 10,000 and 6 from 20,000.
  • Framer Switch: for approved switches, Framer covers the client's first full year on an eligible Framer plan and adds 50,000 AI credits per site, for up to three sites per application. It lowers the first-year platform bill, not the cost of the rebuild.

Our guides cover the platform-specific steps: WordPress to Astro, Webflow to Astro and Framer to Astro.

One pattern matters for redesigns. Google's site-move guide recommends making changes one after the other rather than all at once, and its Change of Address help says that if a move also changes content or URL structure, "you will probably see some traffic loss" while pages are reassessed. If you need both, a like-for-like migration first and a redesign second is the safer plan, even though two phases add some project overhead.

What drives the cost of a website migration

URLs and templates

Two counts set most quotes. Templates (each distinct layout) set the build effort; URLs set the redirect map and the testing. A 500-post blog on three templates can cost less to rebuild than a 20-page site where every page is different, but it still needs 500 redirects checked. That is why published tiers count pages (PandaCodeGen), entities (Cart2Cart) or hours per page band (WSU).

Get both numbers before you ask for quotes. Our free redirect map generator reads your old and new sitemaps, matches each old URL to its closest new page and exports the rules for your platform, which also gives you the URL count.

What the old platform lets you export

PlatformWhat comes outWhat gets rebuilt
WordPressAn XML export of posts, pages, custom post types, comments, custom fields, categories, tags, custom taxonomies and usersPage-builder layouts, plugin features such as forms and search, the theme
WebflowEach CMS collection as a CSV, one locale at a time; rich text as HTML; images and files as links to Webflow-hosted copies, which break if the site is deleted. Code export needs a paid Workspace plan (from USD 19 a month billed yearly) and leaves out CMS content, form processing, site search and localized pagesInteractions, forms, search, links between collections
FramerNo supported HTML export for self-hosting; CMS content through plugins as CSV or JSONLayouts, components, animations
WixNothing that runs elsewhere: Wix says the site must run on its serversEvery page and feature
SquarespaceA WordPress-format XML file with layout and gallery pages and one blog pageStore, portfolio and other page types; product, audio and video blocks; drafts; style settings; custom CSS
Shopify (as the destination)Imports products, customers, historical orders, gift cards, blogs and pages through apps, CSV or its APITheme and apps; redirects work only from URLs that no longer load a page, up to 100,000 (20 million on Plus)

Redirects

A redirect map has one row per old URL, with its new URL or a deliberate 404 or 410. Pattern rules, such as every /blog/ post moving to /articles/, save time only when the old structure was consistent. Each platform sets its own limits: Webflow imports a redirect CSV of up to 16 MB and a new import replaces all existing redirects, Framer lists site redirects on its Pro plan rather than Basic, and Shopify caps redirects as above. Our website migration SEO checklist covers how to build and test the map.

Interactions and design fidelity

Animations don't travel between builders. Webflow's guide to moving from Framer says some Framer animations may not translate directly and may need redesigning with Webflow Interactions, GSAP or custom code. Ask whether a quote is like-for-like or "improved along the way"; the second is a redesign with a migration attached.

Forms, integrations and accounts

Every form needs its destination rebuilt and tested with a real submission, and every script (CRM, booking, chat, payments, analytics and consent) needs a new home. Stores add customer accounts and order history; LitExtension, for example, sells customer password migration as an additional option rather than part of the basic move.

Languages

Each language multiplies the content to move and check. Webflow exports CMS content one locale at a time, and each language needs its own URLs, metadata and hreflang annotations. PandaCodeGen puts any site with more than one language in its top tier. The new platform may also charge per language: Webflow Localize from USD 9 per locale a month and Framer USD 20 per locale a month, both billed yearly.

SEO QA and monitoring

Testing the full list of old URLs against staging, launch-day checks and reviews afterwards are line items, not extras. Google says a small to medium-sized site can take a few weeks for most pages to move, and larger sites take longer, and recommends keeping redirects generally at least a year. Stores also need a catch-up migration of orders placed between the data move and launch; Cart2Cart includes one or more in each package.

What a botched migration costs

Google's documentation describes what to expect from a careful move and what goes wrong:

  • Fluctuation is normal. Rankings may fluctuate while Google recrawls and reindexes the site.
  • Combined changes lose traffic. A move that also changes content or URL structure will probably lose some traffic while pages are reassessed.
  • Lazy redirects don't count. Redirecting many old URLs to one irrelevant page, such as the new home page, may be treated as a soft 404. Content you don't move should return 404 or 410.

We found no public, verifiable dataset of how much traffic failed migrations lose. Percentages quoted in agency posts usually carry no source, so we don't repeat them. You can estimate your own exposure from Search Console instead:

InputWhere to find itIllustration
Monthly organic clicks to URLs with no redirect targetSearch Console's Performance report, Pages tab, matched against your redirect map2,000
Share of those visits that become a lead or saleYour analytics1%
Value of one lead or saleYour CRM or average order valueUSD 500
Value at risk each month those URLs stay broken2,000 × 1% × USD 500USD 10,000

The figures are an illustration, not a benchmark; put in your own. Then compare the result with the lines buyers cut first from a quote: the redirect map, the staging test and the reviews in the first 60 days.

Recurring costs before and after the move

A migration changes your running costs as well as your one-time bill. Prices below were read on the vendors' pricing pages on 15 October 2026, in US dollars a month unless noted.

PlatformPlanBilled yearlyBilled monthlyWhat it includes
WebflowBasic1525No CMS
WebflowPremium253920,000 CMS items, 50 GB bandwidth
FramerBasic101530 pages, 1,000 CMS items
FramerPro3045150 pages, 2,500 CMS items, site redirects
WordPress on KinstaSingle 20GB350 a year35One WordPress install, unlimited free migrations
Astro on Cloudflare WorkersFree or Paid—0, or from 5 per accountRequests to static assets free and unlimited
Sanity (headless CMS)Free or Growth—0, or 15 per seatFree: up to 20 seats and 10,000 documents

Seats change the picture: a Webflow Limited seat for an editor is USD 15 a month billed yearly, and a Framer content editor USD 10. Shopify, Wix and Squarespace show prices by country, so check their pricing pages from your billing country.

Do the arithmetic before you move for the bill alone. A Webflow Premium site billed yearly costs USD 300 a year; Cloudflare's paid Workers plan costs USD 60 a year, a USD 240 difference. Add two Localize Essential locales (USD 18 a month) and two Limited seats (USD 30 a month) and the Webflow bill reaches USD 876 a year. Even then, a USD 5,000 rebuild takes years to repay on fees alone, so the reasons to move are usually editing, speed, features or ownership. If Webflow's 2026 plan change prompted the question, our Webflow pricing 2026 guide explains who renews when (Freelancer and Agency Workspace sites switch at renewals on or after 16 November 2026), and the Webflow renewal calculator sets your new price next to Framer and a coded site.

Is the new platform faster? Our website platform speed report uses Google's field data. In the United States on mobile (September 2026 data), 62% of WordPress sites passed Core Web Vitals, against 80.2% on Webflow, 81.7% on Framer and 84.2% on Astro; WooCommerce stores passed at 54.7% and Shopify stores at 85.5%. Those are shares of all sites on each platform, not a forecast for yours, so check your own site's field data before paying for a move to fix speed.

How Dardo quotes a website migration

Dardo doesn't publish a migration price. We quote each website migration per scope, after seeing the URL inventory, because the same page count can hide very different work. The proposal itemizes what the service includes: the URL and content inventory, a 1:1 redirect map, content and media moved, forms, analytics, consent and integrations rebuilt and tested, a staging crawl, and search reviews at 30 and 60 days. Platform plans, hosting and the CMS are separate lines, at each provider's own price.

As our pricing page explains, the inquiry form offers optional budget ranges: under USD 5,000, 5,000–15,000, 15,000–30,000, 30,000–60,000 and over 60,000. They help us propose the right depth of work; they are not a price list, and there is no minimum budget. Our default stack is Astro on Cloudflare with a headless CMS; when a store needs Shopify or a team relies on WordPress, we move to those with the same checks. If the move also needs a new design, website redesign runs the same checks inside the new design.

How to get migration quotes you can compare

Send every provider the same brief, then compare scope before price. Our free brief and RFP builder turns your answers into a document you can send to each one. Include:

  • URL count from your sitemaps, plus Search Console's top landing pages over the last 12 months.
  • Templates and content: how many distinct layouts, which CMS collections and how many items in each.
  • Platforms: where you are, where you want to land, and your current plan's renewal date.
  • Languages, and who reviews each one.
  • Forms and integrations: every form's destination, plus CRM, booking, payments, analytics and consent.
  • Store data, if any: products and variants, customers, orders, and whether customer passwords must carry over.
  • Design: like-for-like or a redesign.
  • What can't change: URLs with links or traffic, and your launch date.

Then ask each provider:

  • Who builds the redirect map, and how is it tested before launch?
  • Which URLs will return 404 or 410, and who approves that list?
  • How long is post-launch monitoring, and what does it check?
  • What is excluded: copy, design, the data catch-up after launch, platform fees, marketplace or payment fees?
  • Who owns the accounts, code and CMS at handover?

Be wary of a migration quote that never mentions redirects, a price set by page count with no inventory behind it, and any promise of guaranteed rankings.

Common questions

How much does it cost to migrate a website to a new platform?

Among providers that publish prices (read 15 October 2026), small sites rebuilt on Webflow or Framer start at USD 800–2,500 with freelancers, and a studio that prices by size starts at USD 1,500 for up to 7 pages and USD 5,000 for more than 20 pages or several languages. Agency migrations with redirects and integrations start around USD 7,500. The price follows templates, CMS content, integrations, languages and how many URLs must keep working.

How much does it cost to move a website to a new host?

If the platform stays the same and the URLs don't change, often nothing beyond the new hosting plan. Kinsta, for example, includes unlimited free WordPress migrations in plans that start at USD 35 a month. No redirects are needed, but DNS, email records and a short freeze on content changes still need planning.

How much does a WordPress to Webflow migration cost?

Published starting prices run from USD 800 to 2,500 for freelancers on Contra, delivered in about two weeks, and from USD 7,500 for an agency package on Dribbble that includes 301 redirects, integrations and training. Webflow's help center says the move is a rebuild, so the number of templates and CMS collections sets most of the price. Budget also for the Webflow site plan: USD 15 a month billed yearly without a CMS, or USD 25 with one.

How much does it cost to migrate an online store to Shopify?

Moving the data is the cheap part: LitExtension migrates fewer than 100 products, customers or orders free, and Cart2Cart's managed packages cost USD 299 for 1,000 records up to USD 999 for 60,000. Neither moves the design, so the theme, apps, payments and product URL redirects are separate work. Shopify partners listed for store migration start from about USD 500.

Is it cheaper to redesign and migrate at the same time?

It can cost less in total than two projects, but it carries more search risk. Google recommends making changes one after the other, and says a move combined with content or URL structure changes will probably lose some traffic while pages are reassessed. If you do both, keep URLs stable where you can and budget for the review period.

How long does a website migration take?

Published offers for small sites quote two to four weeks of work, and Cart2Cart's managed store data packages take 10 to 21 business days. After launch, Google says a small to medium-sized site can take a few weeks for most pages to move in search, and larger sites take longer. Plan reviews for at least 30 to 60 days.

Will moving platforms lower my running costs?

Sometimes, but rarely enough to pay for the move on fees alone. A Webflow Premium site billed yearly costs USD 300 a year, and Cloudflare's paid Workers plan costs USD 60, a difference of USD 240 before seats, locales or bandwidth add-ons. Move for reasons the current platform can't fix, and compare the full bill, including seats and languages.
