The short answer
Pitch deck studios that publish their prices start their design-only packages at USD 799 to USD 1,650, and charge USD 3,999 to USD 6,000 or more when they also write the deck, on the pages we read on 17 October 2026. Per-slide pricing starts at USD 100 a slide. Freelancers on Contra charge USD 50–200 an hour, and the platform puts a typical deck at 20 to 30 hours.
If your story is still changing every week, you don't need any of that yet: Keynote comes with every new Mac, iPad and iPhone, and Google Workspace starts at USD 7 per user a month. Pay for design when the story is settled and the slides are what's holding it back.
Published pitch deck prices, side by side
These are the deck studios we found that show a price on their own site. Studios that only quote on request, such as Whitepage and Stinson Design, aren't in the table.
| Provider and package | Slides | What the price includes | Turnaround | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Slidebean Pitch Deck Design | Up to 20 | Redesign of a deck you already wrote; 2 rounds of design revisions; writing not included | 4 business days | USD 799 |
| Slidebean Strategy + Pitch Deck Sprint | Up to 30 | Writing, content and design revisions, consulting hours with analysts | 3–4 weeks | From USD 6,000 |
| Pitch Deck Creators (Switzerland) Deck Design | Up to 15 | Design, strategy workshop, 3 months of revisions, Figma, PowerPoint or Google Slides files | 48 hours | USD 1,500 |
| Pitch Deck Creators Writing & Design | Up to 20 | Adds investor copywriting | 7 days | From USD 5,000 |
| Pitch Deck Fire Ember | 10–12 | Design only, you supply the exact words; 10 hours of design; unlimited revisions | Not stated | USD 1,650 |
| Pitch Deck Fire Flame | 15–20 | Design plus content support, 3 pitch review sessions, 20 hours of design | Not stated | USD 3,999 |
| Pitch Deck Fire Bonfire | 21–35 | Same, with 40 hours of design | Not stated | USD 5,999 |
| Waveup design only | Per slide | You supply the content; PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote files | 2 business days (urgent) to 2 weeks | USD 100 a slide |
| Waveup full service | Not stated | Strategy, narrative and design | 2 business days to 2 weeks | From USD 5,000 |
| Presentation Geeks Clean-Up / Re-Design / Custom Build | Not stated | From tidying an existing deck to an original design with custom charts and animation | 72-hour option | From USD 999 / 1,499 / 3,499 |
| Hype Presentations (UK) Refresh / Premium / Ultimate | About 10 | Refresh redesigns existing slides; Premium adds bespoke design and animation; Ultimate adds storytelling and a discovery workshop | Not stated | USD 2,500 / 4,450 / 11,400 |
Two patterns stand out. First, the line between the cheap and the expensive packages is the writing: the packages under USD 2,000 that spell out their scope assume you bring the words, and the packages that write the deck start between USD 3,999 and USD 6,000. Second, slide counts are capped. Hype's packages are priced for about 10 slides and charge GBP 975 for 10 more; Pitch Deck Fire's entry package stops at 12; Pitch Deck Creators' design package stops at 15.
What a 15-slide seed deck costs at each
Prices per package hide how much deck you get. Here is the same job, a 15-slide seed deck, priced from the pages above:
| Route | You write the slides | They help write it |
|---|---|---|
| Slidebean | USD 799 (redesign of your draft) | From USD 6,000 |
| Pitch Deck Creators | USD 1,500 | From USD 5,000 |
| Waveup | 15 × USD 100 = USD 1,500 | From USD 5,000 |
| Pitch Deck Fire | Ember stops at 12 slides, so Flame: USD 3,999 | USD 3,999 (Flame includes content support) |
| Hype Presentations | USD 2,500 for about 10 slides, plus GBP 975 for up to 10 more | USD 11,400 (Ultimate), plus extra slides |
| Freelancer on Contra | 20–30 hours × USD 50–200 = USD 1,000–6,000 | Depends on the freelancer |
So for a deck you've written yourself, the published market runs from about USD 800 to USD 4,000. Add the narrative and it starts near USD 4,000 and climbs past USD 6,000 for strategy sprints.
Freelancers, contests and design subscriptions
Freelancers. Contra's own guide says freelance designers "typically charge between $50 and $200 per hour" and that most pitch deck projects take 20 to 30 hours, for USD 1,000 to USD 6,000. Clients posting deck jobs there often offer less: two client posts shown on that page listed budgets of USD 250–500 and USD 800–1,400. Upwork and Fiverr blocked our reader on 17 October 2026, so their figures aren't here.
Dribbble listings. We read every pitch deck service on the first two pages of Dribbble's pitch deck listings and its branding categories on 17 October 2026. The 47 fixed-price deck services ran from USD 50 to USD 4,200, with a median of USD 1,000 and a typical delivery of about a week. The 10 from providers listing a US location had a median of USD 1,850.
Hourly studios. SketchDeck publishes pay-as-you-go rates of USD 125 an hour for production, USD 187.50 for design and USD 250 for a director, with lower rates on its memberships. At 25 hours of mostly design time, that is roughly USD 4,700.
Template contests. If what you need is a master template your team fills in, 99designs runs PowerPoint template contests at USD 199, 299, 599 and 999, with about 30 to 50 concepts, or quotes USD 299–1,199 for a one-to-one project. You still write and lay out the deck.
Subscriptions. ManyPixels starts at USD 699 a month for one daily output, which suits a team that also needs a one-pager, a data room and social graphics. Superside starts at a USD 15,000 monthly minimum on an annual term, plus a USD 1,000 monthly software fee. Neither makes sense for one deck.
Doing it yourself: what the tools cost
| Tool | What it costs | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Keynote | Included with every new iPhone, Mac and iPad | Premium content and features need an Apple Creator Studio subscription |
| Google Slides | Part of Google Workspace: Business Starter USD 7, Standard USD 14 per user a month on an annual plan | US prices as captured on 15 October 2026, before a promotional discount |
| PowerPoint | Microsoft 365 Personal USD 9.99 a month or USD 99.99 a year | Family plan USD 12.99 a month or USD 129.99 a year |
| Pitch | Pitch Free; Plus EUR 10, Team EUR 15, Business EUR 20 a month billed yearly | Pitch lists its prices in euros |
| Slidebean software | Starter USD 7 a month billed yearly; Accelerate USD 99 a month with a monthly session with its writing team | Templates and an AI builder, not a designer |
A template in any of these gets you a clean, consistent deck. What it doesn't do is decide which ten things you need to prove and in what order. That part is the same whether you pay USD 0 or USD 6,000.
What investors say they look for
The firms that read the most decks publish their guidance, and none of it asks for elaborate design.
Focus on narrative. The rest is commentary.
That line is from Aaron Harris's seed deck template at Y Combinator, which runs title, problem, solution, traction, what makes you special, business model, market, team and the ask. He notes the template is "intentionally simple in design" and that most slides should be a set of one, three at most.
YC's Kevin Hale, in How to design a better pitch deck, boils it down to three rules: make slides legible, simple and obvious. He writes that "investors invest in teams not slides", and lists animations, transitions and excessive branding on every slide among the distractions to cut. His advice is written for a 2½-minute Demo Day pitch of 5 to 7 slides, but the rules carry over to a deck sent by email.
Sequoia's Writing a Business Plan lists ten sections: company purpose, problem, solution, why now, market potential, competition and alternatives, business model, team, financials and vision.
What this means for your budget: design money is well spent on legibility, charts rebuilt from your real numbers and a consistent system across 12 to 20 slides. It is poorly spent on animation, motion and decoration, which is what pushes several of the packages above past USD 4,000.
When to pay for design, and how much
| Your situation | What usually fits | Budget from the published prices |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-seed, story still changing | Write it yourself on a YC or Sequoia outline, in Keynote, Slides or Pitch | USD 0–20 a month |
| Story settled, slides look homemade | Design-only redesign of your draft | USD 799–1,650 |
| Raising a seed or Series A and the narrative needs work | Writing plus design | USD 3,999–6,000+ |
| You'll make many decks (sales, board, investor updates) | A master template, then do it in-house | USD 199–999 for a template contest; more from a studio |
| A team with steady design volume | A design subscription | From USD 699 a month |
If the company has no visual identity yet, the deck studio will invent one for the slides. That can work for a first raise, but the look then has to be redone for the website and everything else. Our guides to brand identity costs and logo design costs cover what a proper identity costs, and naming agency costs covers the step before that.
Questions to ask before you sign
Send every studio the same draft and ask:
- How many slides are included, and what does each extra slide cost?
- Who writes the copy? If you do, who checks that each slide makes one point?
- Are charts rebuilt from your data, or restyled screenshots?
- How many revision rounds, and for how long after delivery? (Pitch Deck Creators includes three months.)
- Which files do you get: editable PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides or Figma, and a master template?
- Do you get two versions, one to present and one to send ahead with more text?
- Who owns the result? Pitch Deck Fire, for example, states "full rights"; ask for that in writing.
- Is there an NDA, and how are your financials stored?
The difference between a freelancer and a studio is mostly who carries the risk when one of these answers turns out to be no.
What to do next
Draft the outline first, one headline per slide, using YC's template. If the headlines read well aloud, a design-only package is enough; if they don't, budget for writing. Dardo's pitch deck design starts from that outline and is quoted per scope, as our pricing page explains.
Common questions
How much does a pitch deck designer cost?
Studios that publish prices started design-only packages at USD 799 to USD 1,650 in October 2026, and charged USD 3,999 to USD 6,000 or more when they also write the deck. Freelancers on Contra charge USD 50 to 200 an hour, and Contra says most decks take 20 to 30 hours.
How much does a pitch deck cost per slide?
Waveup publishes USD 100 a slide for design only, with the client supplying the content. Package prices work out higher per slide when the package includes writing, strategy sessions or animation, and many packages cap the slide count.
Is it worth paying for pitch deck design?
It is worth it once the story is settled and the slides are what makes it hard to follow. Y Combinator's guidance stresses narrative, legibility and simplicity, so a clean template and a clear outline can carry an early raise. Pay for writing help if your headlines don't make the case when read aloud.
How long does pitch deck design take?
Published turnarounds run from 48 hours (Pitch Deck Creators, design only) and 4 business days (Slidebean) to 7 days for writing and design, 2 weeks at Waveup and 3 to 4 weeks for Slidebean's strategy sprint.
How many slides should a pitch deck have?
Y Combinator's seed template has about ten core slides, from problem and solution to team and the ask, and Sequoia's guide lists ten sections. Most studio packages are priced for 10 to 20 slides, with extra slides charged separately.
Can I make a pitch deck myself?
Yes. Keynote comes with every new Mac, iPad and iPhone, Google Workspace starts at USD 7 per user a month, Microsoft 365 Personal costs USD 99.99 a year, and Pitch has a free plan. Start from Y Combinator's or Sequoia's outline and keep each slide to one idea.
