Define the Medellín journey you are buying
“Medellín” can mean the city, the Valle de Aburrá or a national project delivered by a team that uses the city in its positioning. Start with the journey. A local service business may need a clear offer, area, hours, map, WhatsApp and a form. A tourism operator may need availability, payment or booking handoff and bilingual confirmations. A product company may need a catalogue or store. An internal platform needs permissions, records and integrations. These are different products even when each is called a website.
Write the audience, language, service radius, platform, templates, content owner and launch action in the brief. State whether Spanish is the source language and whether English is a complete page set or a short information layer. Count forms, products, entries, payment states and integrations. Keep SEO, analytics, accessibility, redirects and training as named deliverables. A clear question protects a Medellín buyer from comparing a one-page presentation with a bilingual lead system or a commerce build.
Use published Medellín packages as scope evidence
WebMedellin’s pricing page, observed 15 September 2026, lists Presencia at 890,000 COP for one page with up to seven sections, mobile design, WhatsApp, map, form, Analytics, initial technical SEO and first-year hosting. Negocio is 1,690,000 COP for up to five pages with custom visual direction, services, reviews, FAQ, conversion events and 30 days of support. Crecimiento bilingüe starts at 2,990,000 COP for up to eight pages in Spanish and English, service pages, conversion-oriented copy, integrations, analytics and 60 days of support. Its FAQ says payment is 50 percent to start and 50 percent at delivery, the domain is registered to the business and monthly care is optional from 199,000 COP.
Deconma’s article, published 4 July and updated 4 August 2026, gives its own ranges of 800,000–1,500,000 COP for a landing, 1,900,000–4,500,000 COP for a four-to-six-section corporate site and 4,000,000–15,000,000 COP for a store. It states that its own design starts at 1,990,000 COP as a one-time payment with custom design, mobile delivery, technical SEO and first-year hosting and domain; monthly plans start at 290,000 COP for hosting, maintenance and updates. Orbit’s 4 June 2026 article publishes wider Colombia/Medellín context but says Orbit quotes each project by scope. These are provider-authored observations, not a survey and not interchangeable packages.
Check what local and remote delivery really means
WebMedellin says it serves Medellín and the Valle de Aburrá and works remotely with businesses anywhere in Colombia. Deconma says it works from Medellín with in-person or virtual meetings for the metropolitan area and remotely for the rest of Colombia. PANCA describes itself as a Medellín studio with projects across Latin America. Those statements tell a buyer how each provider describes its service area; they do not certify an office, staffing level or result. Sodecompany’s page also groups websites with e-commerce, WordPress, payment gateways, apps, automations and custom software, so ask whether your proposal is a site or a larger operational build.
For an onsite workshop in Laureles, El Poblado or another named location, request address, dates, travel costs and output in writing. For remote delivery, agree on Medellín-time review windows, decision rights, file and credential storage, language approval and the person who tests the form or booking handoff. A local meeting can solve coordination; a remote process can suit an organization with clear asynchronous review. Neither deserves a price premium or discount merely because of a label. Compare the work and responsibility that survive after the location wording is removed.

Compare bilingual, commerce and platform scope
The public packages illustrate why “website” is too broad. WebMedellin’s bilingual package counts up to eight pages and names service pages, conversion copy, integrations, analytics and support. PANCA lists technical SEO, information architecture, speed work, landing pages, corporate sites, e-commerce, apps, CRM and API integrations, and describes a process from diagnosis through launch and access handoff. Sodecompany describes WordPress and WooCommerce work, local payment partners, automation, chatbots and custom software. A provider may offer all of these while your quote includes only a subset.
Ask for a matrix that marks each language, template, page, product, form state, integration and support period. For a bilingual tourism site, test Spanish and English navigation, service-area text, availability, payment or booking confirmation, error messages and follow-up emails. For a store, list products, variants, inventory, delivery, Colombian payment methods, refunds, order notifications and staff training. For a CRM or app, list roles, records, API ownership, security, exports, backups and acceptance data. “SEO included” should state titles, metadata, structure, redirects, sitemap and a technical retest; it should not imply a ranking. This is the comparison a Medellín procurement team can approve.
Work through a transparent Medellín budget
Imagine a fictional Medellín tourism operator that supplies Spanish copy and photos. It wants eight Spanish pages, four English counterparts, a service-area page for Medellín and selected Valle de Aburrá locations, a quote form, WhatsApp, analytics, basic technical SEO, a simple availability handoff and 60 days of defect support. There is no live inventory, payment gateway, CRM, new photography or paid media. This is a hypothetical planning model, not a provider quote or a local average.
Discovery and language map: 700,000 COP. Content and visual system for eight Spanish pages: 2,200,000 COP. English page production and review: 1,400,000 COP. Responsive build and CMS: 3,000,000 COP. Form, WhatsApp, analytics and availability handoff: 1,200,000 COP. Technical SEO, redirects and QA: 800,000 COP. Training, launch and 60-day defect period: 700,000 COP. The subtotal is 10,000,000 COP. A stated 10 percent contingency is 1,000,000 COP, producing a working budget of 11,000,000 COP.
At a hypothetical 4,000 COP per USD, that is USD 2,750; replace the rate with the quote’s payment currency and applicable rate. WebMedellin’s published 2,990,000 COP bilingual package may be a useful starting comparison because it names eight pages and support, while Deconma’s 1,990,000 COP starting offer names custom design, mobile delivery, SEO and first-year hosting and domain. Neither is equivalent to this hypothetical because language review, content volume and an availability handoff differ. If live booking, payments or a CRM is added, write a new scope and price those operational risks separately.
Separate COP price, platform fees and ownership
Keep one-time work and operation in separate lines. WebMedellin’s pages say first-year hosting and SSL are included in base packages, the domain is placed in the business’s name and optional care starts at 199,000 COP per month. Deconma states that its monthly plans start at 290,000 COP for hosting, maintenance and updates. Those are provider-specific terms; confirm renewal amounts, cancellation, backups, support and whether the site can move. A quote that says “hosting included” without a duration is incomplete.
List the domain registrant, hosting account, CMS or repository, analytics and Search Console properties, source files, backups and administrator credentials. Separate software subscriptions, payment-gateway fees, email, maintenance, content updates, translation and SEO retainers from design and build. Put tax treatment on an explicit line and ask the responsible accountant about applicability. If a provider quotes USD for software or a foreign contractor, show the conversion date and who carries exchange movement. A COP headline is only comparable when currency, taxes, recurring charges and ownership are visible beside the same deliverables.
Sign off with a real Medellín handoff
Before launch, test one complete customer path on a phone. Read the Spanish service page, switch to English if included, check the Medellín or Valle de Aburrá boundary, submit a quote or booking request, receive the confirmation and verify the record with the person who owns the inbox or system. Test a missing field, an unavailable area, a slow connection, a language mismatch and a failed integration. Ask the editor to change one service, one image and one translation in the agreed CMS or staging environment.
Keep the dated URL list, form receipt, test evidence, credentials handoff and support contact with the proposal. A provider’s public claim about speed, SEO, local presence, 40 projects or a technology partner remains self-description until the project contract and tests make it concrete. Do not convert a public package into a guaranteed ranking, booking volume or revenue forecast. The strongest Medellín decision is the quote that states exactly what launches, who owns it, who responds after launch and what the next change will cost.
