# Webflow design and development for marketing teams

Webflow development is building your marketing site on Webflow so the people who write the pages can also publish them. Dardo designs the site in Figma and builds it in Webflow with a documented class system, CMS Collections and reusable components, so your team adds pages without breaking the design. We state Webflow's plan limits and running costs before you commit.

## What our Webflow development service includes

A Webflow project with Dardo covers design, build, content setup and launch, and the proposal marks which parts you already have. If you arrive with approved Figma files, we start at the build; if not, design comes first, as in any [custom web design](https://dardo.studio/en/services/web-design/) project.

- Figma designs for each template, built from components and variables that carry over to Webflow
- A class naming system and variables for color, type and spacing
- Components with editable text, image and link properties that editors assemble into new pages
- CMS Collections for posts, case studies, people or resources, with templates and imported content
- Interactions in Webflow's GSAP-based editor, each with a reduced-motion version
- Forms sent to your inbox, HubSpot or another CRM, tested before launch
- SEO settings, 301 redirects, editor roles and a recorded training session

## When is Webflow the right platform?

Webflow fits when a marketing team publishes weekly, the site is mostly pages, posts and landing pages, and nobody wants a code deploy to change a headline. Editors work on the visual canvas under a content role that keeps them out of the design, and Webflow hosts the site on Cloudflare's CDN.

If you're weighing it against WordPress, our [Webflow vs WordPress](https://dardo.studio/en/blog/webflow-vs-wordpress/) comparison prices the same site on both over three years.

On speed, Webflow sites pass Core Web Vitals more often than WordPress sites in every country we track; see the [website platform speed report](https://dardo.studio/en/tools/website-platform-speed-report/) for your market.

It's the wrong platform in these cases, and we'll say so before quoting:

- A logged-in product with its own users and data belongs in a [web app](https://dardo.studio/en/services/web-app-development/), with the marketing site beside it.
- More than ten extra languages takes Localize into sales-priced plans; our [multilingual websites](https://dardo.studio/en/services/multilingual-websites/) service compares the options.
- A catalogue beyond Premium's cap of 20,000 CMS items is usually better served by a [headless CMS](https://dardo.studio/en/services/headless-cms-development/).
- A site your developers change in code every week belongs in your own repository, built with [Astro](https://dardo.studio/en/services/astro-development/).

For a small team shipping a motion-heavy launch site, compare [Framer](https://dardo.studio/en/services/framer-development/) too. Webflow Cloud now hosts Next.js, Astro and Vite apps beside a Webflow site, with request and CPU allowances per plan, which suits a small tool such as a calculator.

## How we build a Webflow site your team can keep editing

Three decisions, made before any page goes in, keep the twentieth page your team adds as deliberate as the first.

**A written class system.** Every style is a global utility or belongs to a named component, and the naming rules are in the handover. Webflow builds decay when each new section adds one-off classes.

**Components and Collections.** Reused sections become components with properties for text, images and links. Webflow's content editing role lets editors change copy and CMS items without design access, and repeating content such as posts, case studies and people lives in Collections linked by reference fields.

**Figma first, code where it helps.** We design with auto layout, components and variables, which the Figma to Webflow plugin can convert and sync into the site. When native elements fall short, as with a pricing calculator, we write a React code component and import it through DevLink, so editors still place it on the canvas.

Before launch we test keyboard access and screen-reader labels against WCAG 2.2 (full audits are our [web accessibility](https://dardo.studio/en/services/web-accessibility/) service), run Lighthouse on every template and submit every form. Webflow's MCP server lets AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor edit the site within its existing roles; we write agent instructions so they follow the class system too.

## What does a Webflow site cost to build and run?

You pay two bills: Dardo's project fee, and Webflow's recurring fees, which go to Webflow directly. Our fee follows the work: unique templates and components, Collections and the content to import, locales, integrations such as HubSpot, and whether design is in scope. Our [pricing page](https://dardo.studio/en/pricing/) shows the budget ranges we quote within.

These are Webflow's own fees as its pricing page listed them in October 2026, billed yearly. Monthly billing costs more: Premium is USD 39 a month instead of 25.

__What does a Webflow site cost to build and run?__
| Webflow fee | Price, billed yearly | What it covers |
| ------------------ | ---------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Basic site plan | USD 15 a month | Custom domain and up to 300 static pages, no CMS |
| Premium site plan | USD 25 a month | The CMS with 20,000 items and 40 Collections, 50 GB bandwidth |
| Localize Essential | USD 9 a month per locale | Up to 3 extra locales, 10,000 AI-translated words per locale a month |
| Localize Advanced | USD 29 a month per locale | Up to 10 extra locales, localized URLs, per-locale images, visitor routing |
| Limited seat | USD 15 a month per person | Editing content and building pages from components |
| Full seat | USD 39 a month per person | Designing pages and managing settings |
| Team plan | USD 2,500 a month, annual contract | 5 full and 5 limited seats, 2 locales, single-page publishing |

Three limits catch teams later. Premium includes 50 GB of bandwidth a month, and two months in a row over it trigger an automatic plan upgrade. On site plans, publishing pushes every saved change across the site, half-finished edits included; single-page publishing and staged workflows start at the Team plan. And the CMS API allows 120 requests a minute on Premium, which paces large imports.

To see what your own site pays at its next renewal, with bandwidth add-ons, Localize and seats, and what the same site would cost on Framer or in code, use our [Webflow renewal calculator](https://dardo.studio/en/tools/webflow-pricing-calculator/).

## Localization on Webflow: what the Localize add-on covers

Webflow Localize serves each language from a subdirectory such as /es/, with translated titles and descriptions, hreflang tags on each page and in the sitemap, and per-locale styles, alt text and CMS content edited on the same canvas. It is priced per locale, on top of the site plan.

The tier matters. Essential covers up to three extra locales; Advanced adds localized URLs, per-locale images and automatic visitor routing for up to ten. Beyond ten, Webflow's sales team prices it. AI translation is a first draft. We write and review Spanish natively and agree a named reviewer for every other locale.

## Who owns the site, and can you leave Webflow later?

You own the site: it lives in your company's Webflow Workspace on your billing, and Dardo joins as an agency guest team. Domain, DNS, form destinations and analytics stay in your accounts.

The lock-in is real, so price it in. CMS pages render only on Webflow hosting. Code export needs a paid Workspace plan, leaves CMS content to be exported one Collection at a time, stops forms from working, and exported code can't be imported back. Our guide to [moving from Webflow to Astro](https://dardo.studio/en/blog/webflow-to-astro/) covers what an exit involves; a [website migration](https://dardo.studio/en/services/website-migration/) project runs it, or the move into Webflow, with every changed URL redirected.

## Questions before you choose

**Is Webflow good for SEO?**

Webflow covers the technical controls search needs: titles and descriptions per page or generated from CMS fields, canonical tags, an automatic sitemap, 301 redirects, schema markup, and robots.txt and llms.txt files, served through Cloudflare's CDN. That makes a site easy to crawl. Rankings still depend on content, competition and links, which our SEO service plans.

**How many people can edit a Webflow site, and what do seats cost?**

As of October 2026, each person who edits content or builds pages from components needs a Limited seat at USD 15 a month billed yearly, and each designer or admin a Full seat at USD 39. Reviewers who only comment get free seats, and the Workspace owner's first full seat is included. Agency guests such as Dardo don't use your seats.

**Should we choose Webflow or Framer?**

Choose Webflow when several people publish content and you need editor roles, a CMS that holds thousands of items or the Localize add-on. Framer suits a small, design-led team iterating quickly on a launch site with a lot of motion. Both are hosted platforms with lock-in; our Framer development page lists Framer's limits for comparison.

**Can you take over or rebuild an existing Webflow site?**

Yes. We start with an audit of the class structure, unused styles, components, Collections, interactions and editor roles. Sometimes a cleanup is enough; when every page carries its own one-off classes, rebuilding the templates on a clean system can be quicker than untangling them. The audit says which before we quote the build.

**Can you move our WordPress site to Webflow?**

Yes. We inventory every URL, import posts into CMS Collections by CSV or through Webflow's API, rebuild the pages and templates, and give each changed URL a 301 redirect. Check the volume first: Premium holds 20,000 CMS items across the site, and authors, categories and tags count too once they become Collection items.

**Are you a Webflow Certified Partner?**

No, and we don't claim partner status. Judge us on our published work, the written scope and the handover: the proposal names who designs and builds your site, the class system we'll use and how each template is accepted. If certified status is a procurement requirement, Webflow's partner directory lists certified agencies.

**What do you need from us, and how long does a build take?**

Access to your Webflow Workspace or approval to create one in your name, brand assets, the content or whoever writes it, each form and its destination, and one person who approves each stage. The proposal sets the timeline from the templates, content readiness, locales and integrations. We work from Bogotá on UTC−5, inside US Eastern and Central working hours.
