Dardo / Your information

# Privacy, plainly.

What happens when you browse the site or send a project inquiry.

## Project inquiries

When you submit the contact form, Dardo stores your name, email, optional company, project brief, selected service and market, optional working budget and optional answer about how you found us in a private Cloudflare D1 database. We use this information to review the inquiry, reply, understand which channels bring suitable projects and manage the project conversation. The receipt shown after submission confirms database storage. A copy is sent through Cloudflare Email Service to the studio’s Gmail inbox so we can reply. Delivery metadata and retry state are stored with the inquiry. If you tick the AI slop discount box, we also store that choice with your inquiry. If you arrived from an ad, the inquiry also keeps that ad's click identifier, as described under Understanding what helps.

## Newsletter

When you join Dardo’s newsletter, we store your email address, language, subscription status and the same limited source information described below in our private Cloudflare D1 database. We use it only to manage and send Dardo’s editorial email. You can stop marketing emails using Email preferences or by replying “stop” to an email.

## Email preferences

The preferences page stores your email address, choice and request time in our private Cloudflare database. It removes you from the newsletter list and notifies the studio to apply the choice to manual outreach. Requested project conversations can continue. We keep a minimal suppression record to avoid contacting you again, including when other information is removed. The preferences page does not load Google Analytics or PostHog.

## Business outreach

Sometimes we email people at businesses we think we can help. We only use work contact details that the person or their organization published, for example on a company website, in a press release or in a professional directory.

We keep the name, work email, role and company, where and when we found the address, a short note on why we got in touch, and our messages. These are kept in Google Workspace (Gmail) and in our CRM, Apollo.io, both in the United States. We record sent messages, replies and opt-outs in our private Cloudflare database so we never contact someone who asked us not to.

Our basis is our legitimate interest in offering our services to businesses, and we only write about your professional role. We keep these records for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a client.

Reply “stop” or use Email preferences and we will not contact you again; we keep a minimal suppression record so that this sticks. You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, at hello@dardo.studio. If you are in the UK or the EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

## Understanding what helps

Google Analytics and PostHog Cloud are on by default. PostHog measures page visits, campaign labels, navigation, scroll depth, downloads, form progress, verified submissions, browser errors and performance. We also measure browser language and timezone, screen and device capabilities, appearance preferences, approximate connection quality and returning visits. Cloudflare supplies approximate IP-based geography and network-owner information; this does not identify an employer or a precise device location. PostHog processes the connection IP address through its US Cloud service. We exclude full URL queries, names, emails, inquiry references and form contents from analytics events. Advertising cookies, ad personalization and remarketing stay off.

Ad click measurement. If you arrive from a Google or Microsoft ad, the address carries a click identifier from that ad platform. We keep it in this browser's local storage for up to 90 days and, if you send an inquiry, store it with the inquiry, together with the ad's keyword and ad group from the campaign labels. We then tell that platform, by the click identifier alone, that the click led to an inquiry, and later whether it became a qualified inquiry or a project, with the project's value. We never send your name, email or brief to an ad platform. This is on by default, except in the EU, the UK and Switzerland, where it stays off unless you turn it on in Cookie settings. Turning it or analytics off in Cookie settings, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control keep it off and remove a kept identifier.

Session replay and click heatmaps help us find usability problems. Replay shows public page text, images, video and designated artwork canvases. It masks inputs and excludes forms, submission messages, private elements and embedded frames. Other canvases are excluded. It does not record microphone audio, network bodies or console messages. Analytics cookies and local storage remember a browser with cookies lasting up to 180 days; session storage maintains the current visit. Replay recordings are retained for 30 days. Verified conversion events wait in a private delivery queue for at most seven days.

A separate language cookie, set only when you pick a language in the menu, remembers that choice for a year.

Use Cookie settings in the footer to turn off analytics or session replay at any time. No automatic cookie popup appears. Turning analytics off stops Google Analytics, PostHog and Dardo’s optional interaction and performance collection in this browser. Your choice is saved until changed or site data is cleared. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control override the default and keep collection off. Contact and newsletter forms continue to work.

Cloudflare Web Analytics measures visits and performance. Dardo also records downloads, inquiry-form starts, email/WhatsApp link clicks and received inquiries with a page path and language. These event records exclude names and emails. This optional event collection respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.

We also measure page loading, layout stability and interaction responsiveness using the web-vitals library. Our private performance database stores metric values grouped by page type, language and small or large viewport, with temporary metric identifiers to avoid duplicate readings. It stores no page URLs, IP addresses, visitor identities or cookies. This collection respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control; readings are removed after 35 days.

During a browsing session, session storage remembers the first page, referring site and campaign labels. Local storage also remembers the first and previous visit dates and a browser-session count, resetting after 180 days of inactivity. If you send an inquiry or subscribe, our private database can associate that submission with the anonymous browser and session identifiers to understand your site journey. This link follows your analytics preference and does not send your contact details to PostHog. The referring URL is reduced to its site name, and full page query strings are excluded. Cloudflare uses IP addresses for rate limiting; our inquiry database does not store them.

## Questions or removal requests
